TelTel Launches Plug-n-Play Downloader Providing Streamlined Media Downloads

SANTA CLARA, CA – December, 2008 – TelTel, a provider of managed peer-to-peer global network platform to web-enabled consumer electronics devices, today announced the availability of 9x9 Downloader. Designed for the fast growing digital home entertainment market, users can now offload media download functions traditionally performed on a PC to the 9x9 Downloader – an external low-power device which can be remotely managed from the Internet. Users simply initiate audio, video or game downloads from any PC and store the downloaded content, via the 9x9 Downloader, onto a portable USB drive.
TelTel is partnering with China’s largest download service provider, XunLei, by embedding the XunLei download software engine in the 9x9 Downloader. This provides easy-to-use web and PC client interfaces allowing users to easily perform the download functions. Once the download is initiated, the user’s PC can be turned off or dedicated to other tasks and the 9x9 Downloader completes the download independently.
“XunLei download engine embedded in 9x9 Downloader guarantees download speed comparable to the popular XunLei PC client software”, said XiaoLe Wang, Strategy Director of XunLei. “XunLei has also provided TelTel users with a special version of its PC client, designed to optimize user experience when remotely initiating downloading to a 9x9 Downloader.”
The 9x9 Downloader takes advantage of the TelTel Network’s unique firewall and NAT traversal capability to allow users to remotely access and manage the 9x9 Downloader anywhere on the Internet. The end result is a simplified user experience, super fast online media downloads without using the PC, and energy efficient downloading capabilities.
